Coolant temp sensor setup for my ZT...

Original EFI sensor, original t-peice that fed it when fitted to the inlet manifold.
Only seems to register up to about 50 degrees and when I removed the sensor to check there was water there nothing came out untill I cracked the header tank cap... This was with the engine running!
I thought water was pumped through the heater matrix all the time?!

Not a big deal as I can just fit a sensor to a waterway on the head but would of been easier this way! lol

Have you just filled it with coolant? Could have been air locked . . .

I think so yes and thinking about it, coming through the matrix will cool it and give me false temp readings anyway so not a good place for it!! lol
Drilling the head is the way, just need to grab a sensor as the EFI one is huge!!

Yes I had thought of that but believe there to be no air in the system.

If you fitted a CVH thermostat housing this wouldnt be an issue and all the pipework would be tidy and fit correctly.

The Stat housing has a tap in it already for a sensor.

Maybe, you can fit the efi water temp sensor on the same place that the fan switch goes on the CVH termostat housing with some kind of adapter.....
The problem is when the thermostat close....EFI sensor will no read the right water temp...
So the best place is to drill a new hole on the head....
