sierra none abs converting to all discs
Hello am converting my sierra from 240mm disc front and drum on rear to 260mm discs front and rear calipers its aa none abs car so does have a servo can anyone tell me whats the best way of doing this as i understand that if i dont change my master cylinder when fitting rear calipers i will have excessive pedal travel i cant seem to find a sierra with discs all round without abs to no which master cylinder and servo to get has anybody done this ? any advice apriaciated
Do you have the small rectangular resoviour master cylinder?
Converting to ABS will be very hard, I am sure most if not all models with discs all round were ABS equipped?
Fitting the ABS type master cylinder with the big resoviour will be very difficult as there are alot of gubbins, you have the valve block, loom, ECU etc just to name a few things.
I don't think you will have excessive travel, but I would imagine your current M/C may not be man enough to operate the rear discs, the ABS system works under high pressure so can do so.
You also will need a sensor on each wheel (hub) I am not sure if models without ABS have this provision on the hubs.
You will also need a different handbrake cable.

You will need the servo and master cylinder from an all disc non ABS car. This could be from a DOHC or 2.8/2.9. They were made by Teves. The Finis code for the servo is 6155002, master cylinder is either 6196040 or 6155004.
