Default Help.... M.o.t booked, 2/4/2012 but....

Hi all,

With the warm weather coming, I've decided to bring my turbo out of the garage for the summer months. She's been tucked up now since last September but before shutting her down for the winter everything worked fine!

Sorted my insurance this morning and have her booked in for the MOT on Monday! However, my heater has stopped working along with my reverse lights.

I'ver checked the fuses etc, but all fine! The only other thing I think it could be is a dodgy earth?

Anybody else had this problem? Is there an obvious earth I can check?

Your thoughts and comments would be much appreciated.

CheeRS,

Dan

Check the connection on the gearbox for the reverse lights mate, check the bulbs aswell, I think theres a earth near the wiper motor that could be for the heater, have you checked if you have a live feed at the heater motor?

you don't need a heater or reverse light to pass a mot test

reverse lights are not an issue. but try cleaning the plug on the front of the box

Cheers guys for the advise.

Got in the car this morning and everything worked!! Went out for lunch came back to prep for mot but same problem occured!!

I removed the heater blower from the car and that worked fine.

I checked battery connections and the earth wires next to the wiper motor but all seems fine!

Changed various fuses... still nothing.

Running out of ideas....

Problem has got worse....

First thing this morning, dropped the car at the garage before I went to work and noticed that my indicators were not working either!! (Rookie mistake) I only checked the hazards Sunday which worked fine!

So all in all the following has ceased working whilst layed up!!

1, Indicators;
2, Heater blower;
3, Reverse lights.

Relay? maybe? or earth?

Anybody had experience with this problem?

Cheers.
