cant be turbo as its brand new (50 miles! )

if i had melted something, surley it wouldnt drive as i managed to drive it home (20 miles)

1) smoke (whitey blue) pissing from the exhaust on overrun and taking off

2) big oily haze on tarmac under the car

3) sounds like a tractor, misfiring everywhere


what are the odds its the headgasket (grp a shitter)?

or is it a blown engine?

its not turbo tiff.. misfires off boost

and yes i did....

Do a compression test AND a leak down test Dave...........also check for a melted spark plug tip.

yeah comp test would tell you if you had a hole probably wont get fook all compression showing, or if you had done a gasket would be low on 1 cylinder or 2 if its between bores

a hole'd piston of cracked ring throws out lots of oil is a very short time.....

 

that sounds remarkable like when i did a piston on my 3dr back when it was on greens...

Dave pull plugs out and check, Most likely you have dropped enging, did you check the fuel pump volts with the electric problem you have.

saying that! the water temps were extremely low on the secs monitor and the gauge.. about 60 deg!!! once warmed right up!

could this point towards head gasket! ??

 

Yes Dave, I've still got a complete engine...........but it is "sort of" not for sale at the moment..........Would be A LOT CHEAPER to get yours rebuilt by Brom than buy my one.....

hi mark, i sorted the volt problem, ecu was getting 13.9 v and fuel pump was fine

its going to be a new bloody engine isnt it

 

dave what did you do in the end regards wiring?

 

Pull the plugs out this will give you the best Idea

Check plugs!!!! Look for a melted tip......or very light colour on one or more of the tips..suggesting that you mat have had lean mixture/failed/blocked injector

that DONT sound like head gasket to me more like it's run lean for what ever reason and put a hole in one or more of the pistons what new plugs did you use and what was your engine spec etc?

ps drove mine home 20 miles smoke out the back drank loads of oil no water loss and 1 piston was holed when 1st engine let go with Ł100 worth of so called NGK racing spark plugs

He said that his plugs cost Ł 60.00....So I guess they must be NGK 9's
