Hi can anyone help me. Recently the Temp gauge on the dash has stopped working. The needle is sat at the bottom of the gauge under the black. I have noticed that the fan does not kick in even after a good run (2hours) or when the car is sat idle on the drive for over an Hour. I was told it might be the Coolant temp sensor which i changed today..however still the gauge doesnt work. The fan will kick in tho if the sensor is unplugged. And will stay on. Any help would be great. Cheers in advance

 

If you look at the top of the engine. There is a water temp sensor between cyl.2 n 3. Im sure the ecu gets a signak from this.

Im sure this is where the switch is.

is this a brass sensor with a black/white wire running out of it??...im just worried the the engine is getting too hot as the fan doesnt kick in. will it be better if i unplug the coolant sensor that i replaced and let the fan run continueslly?
