The toughest stock arms are what Ford called Post Office van arms. They have stiffer bushes in them, but cost just over £100 each!
A lot of people have found coil overs to be too stiff for everyday use, but then every bodies tolerances are different
A set of lowering springs and matching dampers from the likes of Spax, KW, Koni etc should suffice.

its only got 130ps so unless I can pick up some coilovers cheap I dont think I need to go to that extreme being a cab.
I did read somewhere about the royal mail arms but for what is standard is tad expensive, as you dont get any adjustment with them.
Jimbo what sort of money are the rose jointed lower arms ? where did you get yours from ?

i used KYB gas struts and lowering springs on old mk5 cab, think the full kit was about £100 but that was about 7 years ago.
as for the lower arms once lowered it will kill the inside edges of the tyres, i was getting throught a pair every 2 months so i cut the ball joint rivets off, had some plate welded onto the top and bottom of the arm and re drilled the holes 10mm further in from the edge of the arm to reduce the camber. i also had powerflex bushes in them.
after that the tyres lasted a very long time.
ps KYB were std fit to subaru back then
