i used KYB gas struts and lowering springs on old mk5 cab, think the full kit was about £100 but that was about 7 years ago.

as for the lower arms once lowered it will kill the inside edges of the tyres, i was getting throught a pair every 2 months so i cut the ball joint rivets off, had some plate welded onto the top and bottom of the arm and re drilled the holes 10mm further in from the edge of the arm to reduce the camber. i also had powerflex bushes in them.

after that the tyres lasted a very long time.
