Default Is this a good price?

Hi all was browsing ebay and came across these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mk3-mk4-rs...item27c4f6dc53

My engine seems sweet but gets abit tappy when warm, was thinking about taking the engine out,see if anything is worn and replace what's needed, but i have no experience taking an engine apart, could my cam and lifters just be worn or is there normally a reason they wear out, theres no knocking at all and out of about 10 cvh'c i've owned 8 have probaly been tappety but want this one to be spot on,car drives great and boost's perfect, idles fine and keeps low temps, what would you do?

take it out and give her a freshen up mate

these engines are always a little rattley, mine was rebuilt 9 years ago now and has always had the servicing kept on top of and tappets/followers replaced reguarly! doesn't make a bloody sound, runs lovely

so yea, get her rebuilt mate!!

cheers

was out in the car all day yesterday, not one problem and it was in standstill traffic and engine drove like a dream,Im going to change the oil soon as its only slight tappy when warm and put some 10w50 in it,proper fell in love with the car yesterday as it was the first proper pleasure drive, new wiring for the radio loom was put in yesterday, new braided fuel line, after reading some threads on How long they have lasted after purchasing it seems touch wood I have a reliable one.

Fordmad!the top end I think I would have a go myself but its the bottom end that worrys me,seen a thread and he spent 8 hours just measuring tolerances, then its lining the oil pump up correct, its something I've always wanted to do,thinking about buying just a fucked mk4 and having a go on that first, love reading some of the threads on here just wish there were a few people closer to me rebuilding an engine thanks for the replys guys
