Default engine for me track car ?

Right the engine in my car is a 1.6 cvh on 48s it has about 150bhp a wild cam thats shit under 4750 rpm and then goes on till 7500 rpm, right would you replace the cam with a fast road one so i get more power down the rev range or take the engine out and put in a turbo lump and have a good easy 200 + bhp, but if i was going to do that i might as well put in a zetec turbo wouldnt i ????? what would you do.

here is a pic of the engine at the moment

If its a track car surley it doesnt matter if its crap under that rpm as it will aslways be high in the rev range?

To be honest i would just have some fun with that motor until something happened to it, then worry about getting a turbo motor, imo

its harder than you think to keep it above 4750 all the time, but bedford autodrome did have 3 hairpins allso have a noise problem not exhaust but carbs it only just made the noise test

yes porkie would like more power, like a nice 400 bhp zetec turbo would be fun, the gear box is a straight cut quaife in all gears so should be able to take twice as much power as it does at the moment, i just dont want to end up with a track car that is a problem with noise, breaks down every other lap because then all the fun goes out the window and i got the car to have fun in and not to worry about it.

It depends on your budget- I looked at this before spadge had it.

I reckon sell what you have and stick a 1.6 cvh turbo in it, decent spec head. Intercooler up front nice bit of cossie management cossie t3 turbo and stick it at 200-220 horses.. If you over spec the engine it will be bullet proof.
Light car with all the right bits on it and a nice engine to match and you'll have an ace track car.

Dont waste your time on anything extravigant - they take too long to build and are fraught with problems to get em right. Not saying that u cant for all the "haters" pmsl

anyway that was my idea...
