hey guys, i posted my engine went the othe day, so went out looking for a new one and found an ST170 in a scrappy that the previous owner had smashed into a kerb or something, smashed all the passenger side if the car in, including the gearbox.

however, the engine works fine and ive managed to get it for £300, now as thats pretty much my budget shot will my 5speed out of my 1.8 blacktop mate up to the ST? if not which will?

*ive tried a bit of research but found nothing on the subject

 

Yes it should be fine, it's the same bottom end after all. Don't forget you'll also need the looms, ecu, keys, fuel pump and lines etc from the st170 for it to all work in your car.

 

cheers, yeah working on the ecu + key thing, some fucker knicked it out the car yesterday.. with the badges -_- know how much it will cost for a new one? or is there anyway to get the 1.8 ecu to work with it? getting the pump and everything else :P
