hi peeps, i have just got my hands on a fiber glass 500 tip spoiler,,has any one fitted one of these before im after photos if any one has any please

 

hi mate just fited one of these to mine thay dont fit to well to be honest it took me a couple of days to fiber glass an fill to get it to look original

 

ok what did you use to glue the tip on? did you take photos?

 

i used window screen sealer to bond mine on. it fit on ok but there was quite a lip all way round. i had to drill holes and screw it on till it dried then take them out but still had quite a lip so thats why i fibre glass and filed it. i didnt take any pictures till i had it ready to prime sorry.

 

ok any chance you could take pic of it now would like to see wat it looks like...

yes they are the ones i got. and trust me they do not fit with minimal mods as they say.even the front spliter i had to make brackets to make it fit.and it took 3/4 weeks for it to arrive not the 10 days as said on the listing

 

There only a few miles from me. I was going to collect one if I got one.
Wanted to take my spoiler up and see if it was as easy to fit as they put before getting one.

 

dont get me wrong with a litle bit of work they are ok. but if your not bodywork minded then you may have to pay a bodyshop to get them to look good.

 

Well iv got one on my 3dr and im over the moon with it just a small amount of work but im happy and iv had a lot pepole look at it and they said it was good













And i used this stuff to bond it on and its never moved

Any one fitted the lower spoiler you can get from xsport? I'm thinking of getting both the upper and lower ones fitted soon, the lower one is fibre glass but looks like rubber, looks quite good on there site just wandered if some one had one already

 

I managed to buy complete fibreglass ones years ago.
Painted them gloss black as didnt want to pass them off as real.
Pleased with outcome tho

 

the one have got of ebay and its not a great fit and i had to wait almost 2 weeks,,,,,the fella told me he had been on holiday,,,im willing to have a go at fitting it myself but wold like to one fitted befor i start

 

i glued mind on with tiger seal. i didnt think the fit was too bad, could have been alot better if i could have been bothered to put more effort in.

 

yes my lower one is from xsport. quality is very good & looks great fitted

 

how much is it for both spoilers

The bottom 1 looks so real

 

the bottom one is from xsport & is £140 delivered. quality is excllent
top one is off ebay & is about £120

cool, look forward to seeing the pics. imo 3drs just look bland without the rs500 bits. as a word of advice to anyone fitting the lower spoiler. ive had the boot up on mine today & noticed that the spoiler has worn through the paint on the 1/4's so id advise putting some vinyl on the 1/4's under the side bits of the spoiler.

 

James you can get the proper RS500 vinyls that go on the 1/4s

 

thats ok i understand,,,,,, your projets are looking good and it was good to put a face to the name...

 

cheers. i have seen them but 50p worth of vinyl & a pair of sissors will do me lol. im gonna use black vinyl as the damage it already done to my paint . you wont be able to see it with the boot down

nope - i got a proper rs500 fibreglass upper spoiler from xsport and an original ford lower spoiler from a lesser model - just need to cut the v out so it fits rounds the middle leg of the spoiler

one day i will clear all the crap out when it is time to work on the ol girl
