Right guys, I own a 1995 small turbo, the brake switch behind he pedal has gone. Juat phined ford and they have quoted me £105 with discount. They say it's different from a normal escort one because my car is 4 wheel drive. I think they are yanking my chain, can anyone tell me if a normal switch would fit it, these are only £30.

the big turbo cossie use a standard type switch up to 15/01/95 finis 6089985 rrp £17.74 , small turbo is different part finis 6534359 rrp £104.29,lists it only for 4wheel drive with abs ,although big turbo had 4wheel drive&abs so cant see what difference would be. might be worth getting the cheaper type ordered in and try it .

 

well thats kinda what i was asking, if the other switch would work. the small turbo ran different management and i was wondering if this was the reason for the difference

 

in my opinion they wouldnt,as you say small turbo runs differenr management.

 

Ok, for future reference this problem can be rectified by a brake switch bought for £6.20 from eBay for a normal escort. As usual ford are talking Bollocks.
