Default Shocks

Just been for a nice bumpey ride in my car when I looked could see one of the shocks has lost most of it's oil so time to replace what should I go for it is a s1 escort cab with a Rs turbo engine running on a set of 17 would like a nice ride real not going on track or nothing but live in Surrey were all you get are speed bumps and pit holes so what should I go for pls help
