Whilst the remake ain't true to the original, it is better in a way, as at least it gives you a plot and makes a bit of sense out of it.....

Tho the car scenes in this one are soooo much better

I think this was purely made as it was the height of muscle car heaven and everyone was out of their nuts on speed and LSD

Quite a few films like this about back then. How about the duel? another quality one that was just someone driving a car all the way though it.
