Default Bosch Fuel Pump(s)...............New & U/S

Anyone had any problems with Bosch Fuel Pumps ?

They're pretty straight forward..............+ & - terminals with a 12V input.

Received 2 Brand New pumps today and both don't work............have 12V at the pumps and everything else seems perfect.

Put them direct across a battery as well - nothing doing !?!

Anybody had the same problem

Bought from fuelpumpsonline.co.uk which is a part of Temple Tuning Ltd.

I've spoken to Sytec who are the main UK agent for Bosch Pumps and they said send them back direct to them so they can check them over.

Pain in the backside to be honest as I could do with two working pumps right now to get the Escort going and ready for an MOT etc.

Such is life !

Well i know bosch pumps and they are very reliable. U can get copy bosch pumps, buy from motorsport developments. Lots of dodgy dealers about.

I've just packed them up and sent them back to the main UK Bosch supplier, as they requested.

I'll see what they say.............not good service receiving something that doesn't work !

The hard stamp on the side of the Pumps would suggest built in 2010 - if that's the case then they've been sat around for a while !?!

What happens when you connect the power?? Does the wiring spark but the pump does nothing?? Normally pump failure on a new pump is due to debris getting into the pump from the tank.

I agree with Phil that there are plenty of copies about but there are plenty of other suppliers of the genuine artical than he makes out! Matt Lewis to name but one, I would never ever use or supply a copy pump.

Should be fine enough!!!! Bosch put it there for a reason and the filtration will be what they think is correct for any application or warranty issues would be common, and out of the hundreds i sell very rarely do i get a return.

They aren't 044 but 979's and genuine items............

Only went to this outfit as I shopped around for the best price............£150 each with free P&P.

I'll wait to see what the Guy at Sytec (Main UK Bosch Distributor) says.

It won't be contamination as nothings passed through them........may be just my bad luck !?!

You paid £150 each for a 979 ? Wow, you can buy 044's cheaper than that

Just searched, why the hell is a 979 so expensive ?
