Default 2003 mondeo - glow plug light comes on

Wonder if anyone can help
When I press to hard on the accelerator the glow pluglight comes on and cuts the engine. It was only happening now and then but has over the past week been doing it constantly. Only a mile to my sons pre school, and it happens 5 or 6 times. After reading another post on here recommending changing the accelerator my partner has just done this. I have just taken the car for a run and it is still happening.
Does anyone have anymore advice on what this could be?
changing the accelerator worked for everyone else so im gutted it hasnt worked for us.it was second hand, could that be the problem?

When my Mondeo did this it was fixed by fitting 4 new injectors.

Hi Micky
Thanks for the reply. Was it expensive to get that done?

Yes, very. Up to four figures depending who does it.

It's fairly rare that it'll be the accelerator pedal I'm afraid. It's more likely to be a fuelling issue.

Get the fault codes read and if P1211 and P0251 come up sell the car!

Get the fault codes read. That's a lot cheaper than changing parts that are perfectly o.k.
