Hi, I bought this Escort just after new year from Boothy. It was a 1000 mile round trip and drove all through the night after picking the car up but it was worth it
Here are some pics...

Got the car home

Gave it a wee wash

Then cleaned up the bonnet catch

Got the car inside

Then started the work, the first thing I wanted to do was get it fired up to make sure the engine actually worked. Thankfully it did!

And the last thing I did was put together the rear lights and put the mirrors on properly

Comments are welcome, thanks

Yeah the shell is really good, hardly any rust at all on it. Still need to have a proper look underneath though, but I'm not expecting anything bad.
I'm planning to build it up to a good usable standard, I want it looking good and driving well. I don't think I'm going to do much to the engine, just leave it how it is for a while.

Got a small update, I installed the headlights and indicators last night. Had a few problems and sorted most of them, only thing is I can't get the indicators to sit properly... They just don't look right.

I'm pretty sure the wings haven't been changed so I don't think that's the problem

Was out in the garage for 5 mins today so thought I'd put in the bonnet vents

And I found some genuine Ford indicators so might try and fit them later tonight

Only managed to fit one of the indicators tonight, but I managed to figure out why they didn't look right before. It's because I didn't have any spring clips on the indicators, I managed to find 1 though
Does anyone know where I will be able to get anymore?

It's been a while since I've updated this, I haven't had much spare time recently but I got a few wee things done today.
Fitted the heater box and motor

Then I managed to find another spring clip for the indicator so that sorted my wonky lights

And I put on the wiper linkage, motor and the wipers themselves

I also ordered some parts from Auto Specialist and Motorsport Developments, I've ordered timing belt kit, fuel filter, turbo oil feed hose, thermostat and a front mount intercooler
hopefully they won't take long to arrive!

Got the intercooler on!!

But.... As usual nothing quite went to plan, my top boost hose wouldn't reach the intercooler. So I ordered a longer alloy hose joiner and a straight silicone hose for my air filter.

I tried the front bumper on to see how it fits, and it doesn't fit properly... So I'll have to try and move the intercooler back a wee bit.

I wanted to make sure the car was watertight aswell so I took it out and gave it a wash, there is a bit of water leaking in near the top of the doors so going to try and sort that out soon.

And I've been trying to tidy up the wiring inside the car and I'm slowly getting there, just got to replace the wires for the boost gauge because they are really thin.

Going to see if I can connect up the intercooler tonight with the new alloy joiner I got.

Was out in the garage for 20 mins tonight, I got the alloy joiner and silicon hose I ordered a few days ago. So I stuck the joiner on and it solved 1 problem, for now...

Put my air filter on properly, it turns out that the straight silicone hose I bought isn't any use for the filter but I just cut up a standard hose and got the filter where I want it.

I got a new battery aswell

I got the bumper on properly a couple of days ago

And I had to sort out the wiring for the electric windows, some wires had come apart so I soldered them back together. All fixed now

I've been trying to get the engine running properly for the past week so I changed the fuel filter and spark plugs. Was having problems where as soon as I put any load on the engine it would misfire then cut out but I figured out I had the wrong chip plugged in so I need to buy a new one

Oh and I changed the charge carrier bolts

I got a load of parts recently and still waiting for a few more things, but here's what I got so far.

I fitted the new ECU chip, HT leads and new bulb holders, all the lights work properly now

Had to replace the rear exhaust mount rubber because it basically just fell apart

And today I started fitting the dashboard, not quite finished though
