Default Insurance wants pictures

Just gone to renew the insurance on the cossy and obviously gone for the cheapest on gocompare (Flux direct)
They have let me buy the policy but they said they will cancel it in 14 days if they don't have pictures of each side of the car, engine, and interior!
Is this a new thing that all insurance company's do?
Anyone ever had this?

Cheers
Danny

And they used to have to be done on film, not digital.
Don't know if that applies nowadays.

i suppose its to confirm the condition and agree a value. if you value an old rust bucket with no engine at Ł10k and its gets 'stollen', they might not want to pay.

It will protect you better too as you can show that youve spent lots on money and time on it

Its also because a lot of idiots insure a modified car as standard and hope to get away with it.

Perfect oppurtunity to display your warped sense of humour if you have one.

I'd have rabbits humping in the background and a naked MILF in there somewhere. Along with a giraffe eating a cream cake.

Alternatively take it to Knowsley Safari Park and take pictures whilst the monkeys are playing on it. VALUE THIS BITCH.

That would have been my plan

I'd probably go for subtle tho, pair of bare feet pushed up against the rear passenger window

If you've nothing to hide whats the issue?

I had to do it with greenlight when I had my saph insured with them.

If you don't like it, cancel it and go with a more expensive policy that doesn't request pics.

Hi rsdan123, sorry to nick your thread just want to ask what you think of 'Flux Direct insurance' is like.

reason im asking is i currently driving a mk2 orion ghia and i got onto confused for a qoute on a Saphire cosworth and a 3dr cosworth and they back with this:

1: Flux direct - Ł1029 f/comp
2: Elephant - Ł5076 f/comp

i went on there own website and it was about the same prices it said somthing about kinert classic and a cosworth scheme.

it sounds to good to be true as i paid just over Ł1000 for the orion tptf,

im 23 ,lisence for 5 years, 3 years ncb, 1 crash in 2008(my fault)
upto 3000 mile a year, using for social & pleasure not commuting, thatcham cat 1 and trakbak tracking system, and valued at Ł7,000. parked at home in street day & night

i havent bought the car yet yet, i was talking to my boss about cossies and got me thinking and with a qoute like i will definately get one.

I would contact "Need 2 Insure", HIC and Greenlight. Classic policy will probably be your best bet but will be limited on miles so will need a snotter for general use.

Avoid any of the Admiral group (Elephant, Bell, Diamond), worse than fucking useless!

Why? I only ask because the quotes they're giving me for the car I've got my eyes on is nearly Ł1000 than the next cheapest quote

Ring Greenlight............... in 7 or 8 years they've never been beaten and their service seems spot on from my point of view

Because in the event of a claim they are worse than useless. Had to fight for friends and family that have been with them. Wouldn't even use them to insure a shitter nevermind my pride and joy.

Thing is my mate had to claim twice and had no issues whatsoever. Got a fair price and settled quickly... Obviously not saying you didn't have problems but they don't always seem totally useless...
