I tri to set up my anti hijacking set it all up and when I tested it it locked it self then unlocked it self strat away y wod it do that and I tri putting key in door to open windows and it wod not work to open or close them and when I go to programe my fob to car it says the light on clock cums on which it doesnt cum on so dnt no if its my fob broken or sank ealse

 

I think you need to go back to school before you try installing your own anti-hijack alarms. I can honestly say that did not make one bit of sense.

The easiest cure for posts like that, is the person posting it, to read it through. If you managed to read that, without questioning it, you are certainly special.

 

I tried to set up my anti-hijacking alarm. I set it all up, but when tested, it locked and unlocked immediately. What would cause this to happen? I tried to put the key in the lock, to see if the windows would open and close (using the key I'm guessing?). Also, when trying to sync the fob to the car, it says (instructions?) that the light on the clock should come on. Do you think the fob is faulty, or could it be something else?

In answer to all that : retrace the wiring, make sure your happy with it. Then if all else fails, contact the alarm supplier.

 

Im no good a spelling at all the anti hijack thing is standerd on the gord mondeo and dnt get y it dont stay locked. And iv put key in door lock to open windows and it does not work so will not even shut them at all. Is the light next to the clock meant to be on when u r programing a fob to the car because min does not stay on and I get the beep and press button on fob and it doesnt do any think at all wot can b wrong with it all its doing my head in now

How did you turn the auto door lock function on?

 

the motion auto lock is set via the GEM
if that's faulty then that could be the cause

the keyfob works the total closure/opener but you have to set the windows to operate on one shot opening/closing first

if you have disconneted the battery then all this needs to be reset, and you may need to reprogram the key to the car first

 

The anti hijack is working now for sum reson cud it b the door lock playing up at all I cnt get the fob to work on car has the red light got to be on for it to b in program mode. Wot other stuff does the gem control and do they ever get water damage or just go wrong I bet they r loads to get a new on

 

general electric module

basicly controls all the stuff the car does, from the hazard lights to the windows and alarm and central locking and everything inbetween

you need to match the numbers on it to your one as they are specific to model and year

 

Ello will it defo be the gem because I woz thinking cud it b door lock . When I drive and anti hijack works but can open the rest of the doors apart from drivers door but can open itwith key from out sid

I think my inlet manifold is making noise wod it make the engine run funny at all because eveen now and then u sit at lights and it start ideling routh

 

if the central locking is playing up then it's almost certainly the module in the drivers door lock that controls the rest of the locks

as for the noise from the inlet manifold, that'll be the swirl flaps breaking up, i wouldn't drive it anymore until you get them fixed, new manifold is about Ł250 or you can follow the instructions in this thread here

Ok but if u put the key in door and hold it when u open it and the windows r meant to open which they r not so wod the control on door lock make that not work as well. And with the manifold noise if its bracking up wod it make car run ruff at all plz

if so, keeping the unlock button on the remote pressed will do the windows

and the inlet manifold issue is explained in that link i posted, and yes, if the flaps are out, they will eventually go into the combustion chamber which will make it a tad messy and you will require a new engine

 

Yes mk3 mondeo my fob is not working so have to use key which is wot im on abaout if u put it in lock and turn to open and hold it the windows should open which they dnt nor do they close if I hold it in the close pastion so wod it b the unit on the door lock or the gem
