I don't think it's too much of an issue on petrol cars, ecspecially indirect injection engines.
As the petrol is just sucked into the cylinder it dosen't make a difference how it comes out really, aslong as it's in the right quanitity.

Direct engines are different as they have to have a specific spray pattern.

Diesel engines are different again as the spray pattern alters and hurts the performance.

the mondeo suffers from bad coke build up in teh lower inlet manifold due to poor breather design

best thing to do is go get new gaskets for inlets, take inlets off and soak them both in degreaser or brake cleaner and clean as much as you can, while your doing it you can also send your injectors to do an ultra sonic clean which will restore the injectors anyhow

but they st also suffers with the imrc so this could be failing stopping the secondaries opening , so posisbly relocating it under the battery while everything is off as at the minute its directly above the exhaust manifold which cooks the circuit boards inside it

Mr 4x4 is spot on Its the EGR that puts all the shit in the manafold so yer clean it out ! also you can tune up the throttle body and lower intake butterflys by replacing the screws for dome allen bolts and half cut the spindel and knife edge the TB plate and polish the bore

I think you need to have a read about how an EFI fuel system works and fuel atomisation - What you have put there is seriously way off the mark.

Have a read of this technical article and you'll see why

Enjoy
