Default Forged con rods.

Hi guys,

It's been highlighted to me after posting my engine spec that I really need to get some forged con rods! Only weak link in the setup I'm running really! Had thought this but just thought I'd leave it till it threw a rod and deal with it then... But, that is a bit stupid so decided to change them while I do the turbo! Better had.

Anyway, can someone tell me what the ideal forged con rods to use would be? I'm using 86mm XE pistons at the mo, any suggestions on what to use? Ideally not an arm and a leg either, lol

Cheers,

Si

300-400 bhp. I'm ideally aiming for more towards the 400 mark if I'm honest.

I think your prob very right... Didn't build the engine myself, bought it in the car, so not even sure of condition of the pistons etc... What kinda Dow can you pick up snd rod and piston package for these days anyway? Not bought in a LONG time

I've some PEC H-Section Rods in mine...............bought a good while ago.

They seemed to be the best for the money - that's my thoughts anyway

Best of Luck.

i'm guessing zetec turbo, not stated though in the post
i'm using eagle rods and wiseco pistons, imported from the states at 86mm bore and delivered for around £750, i got shells on top for another £65 all with customs paid.
i did build the bottom end for over 400bhp use.
