You can buy 45mm gauges.

And Ive used the Racetech a few times, never had an issue. It's a very basic mechanical gauge, isnt exactly much to go wrong ?

What exactly is wrong with it ?

Cant say Ive ever seen a mechanical gauge that far off, even a shite TIM turbo one. But Ive used the racetech on cars up to around 2.5 bar and they've worked fine

The only time they go off, is if you seriously overpressure them and fuck up the internals. But then that's obvious as the gauge doesnt reset to zero when the car is off. Where is the signal line taken from ?

Do 0 and vac readings appear normal ?

Stack gauges. simple, reliable, accurate, and look nice.
(and not as much money as you think, Ł50 I think for a 'mechanical' boost gauge )

Pay the few extra quid and get the Stack electronic version. It also reads upto 2.5 bar and doesn't show annoying vacuum.

Pressure source is same regardless. Electronic gauges have their own map sensor though

Most swing style gauges ( not mechanical ) are basically volt meters.

A voltage makes them read higher, but gravity or a spring makes them return to default.

A stepper motor controls all of the needles movements using motors. Whether that be up, down, whatever.
So I guess they have the potential to be more accurate. Or more prone to problems.

As for the Stack stepper motors. Ive only ever seen two stack rev counters which were stepper motors. If all of their gauges work like that, I'll never own one.
Very jerky, slow and not nice at all. Given the price of them, quite terrible really.

When I seen the first I just assumed it was faulty....but then I seen a Stack dash which was exactly the same.

It must have been damaged somehow, or the internals are leaking air.

It's very rare for any mechanical gauge to be that far out, even very cheap ones. Ive never actually seen one of any brand that bad that hasnt been damaged.

Even a cheap sub Ł5 gauge from a pneumatics place.

Either way, time for a replacement
