Default Buying a fiesta rs turbo

What are problem areas I should be looking out for on the fiesta rs turbo? I know they are commonly rusty around filler cap. Is there any other common rott places? What other issues do they have?
Any help much appreciated

Pull door and boot rubbers out, very common for them to rust under them,

check for wet carpets, another sign of welding required,

rear fixings on the front seats rot nicely as well,

rear arches and rear panel also go,

If you find no rust in these places it's a good one

All the 1s ive seen rot like buggery on the bottom of A pillers round the windscreen. And the bottoms of the B pillers where the doors shut and check sunroof for dampness. Also they should have the proper charcoal recaros and 150mph speedo. And if it is genuine the vin num should read either vs6 bxx wp fb, or sfa bxx ba fb. The next two digits indicate the build date, then the last 5 digits are the vehicles individual serial number. The last 7 digits should match the engine code if the engines origonal. Hope that helps

Great cars but suffer from rust and thats most of them even very good ones have issues around the filler and arch.

I have had these cars down the inner shell with every single outer panel removed and they do have a lot of hidden area's - if it has any on the A pillar then it's likely to have spread south through the bulkhead which is a fair bit of work.

Have a look at the cars in my Garage their should be pictures in there of some of the work

Yes mate my brother bought it! and I got to drive it home it's a tidy car with very minor rust at bottom of the fuel cap small dent in the passenger door. The engine runs sweet but is going to be checked over anyway. It's got koni adjustables. Alot of money has been spent on this car. Got full service history up to 2005 when it had done around 65-70k and it's now on 91k. The lad who owned it said his dads garage had looked after it for the last 5yrs.
It's a very quick car and it's only running 13psi. The engine was built in 2004 with 2.1zvh conversion, stg3 head, stg3 tt turbo by a well known company but cant remember who. Theres alot of reciepts from power engineering and jamsport so I'm going to book it in at jamsport for a check over and tune up. I think he done well getting it for £1750
