Default rs2000 rev counter

hi ive got an rs2000 in my mk4 cab.. only problem is my rev counter if i drive normal its fine if i accelerate hard it bounces about all over. ive bein told it needs some sort of resistor any ideas?

What tacho do you have? the mk4 cab one?

Are you using the EDIS4 module to run the ignition?

mk4 clocks then everything else from donor car.. ive tried mfi which didnt work its now got efi ones in which bounce about
