Anyone know if Ford gave away watches when the original Focus RS was released? I haven't been able to find any information on it at all anywhere ever... anyone know anything about it?

Quite cool for the owner of 831 to have, I'd try and get in touch with the owner through the RSOC and give him first refusal if it's not something you're wanting yourself mate.

Cheers,
Grant

Just heard back from lifestyle ford and they seem to think that it was produced by a previous supplier! Be nice to find that its genuine and not someting that someones bought from greece!

That is a good idea. I'm just in the process of registering on there as it happens! I'm gonna get to the bottom of this.

An extract from an email from one of the lads on the RSOC:

The watch is genuine and rare. I own 808/1000 and they were made to commerate the launch of the car.

Most of them were given to high up officials within the ford world.

I got mine on e-bay in 07. The woman selling it said that her husband worked for fords when he was given it.

I paid about Ł170 for it.

To me, its like a barn find in the boot of my car lol!!

Someone used to come into the factory about 4/5 times a year selling all this stuff for peanuts,I've got a few ford logo maglite torches, small models, may even have a watch of some description there.
You get a choice of ford branded products when you do 25,30,35,40,45 years service.

And nick, people calling it "ford'S" used to really bug me but it happens from the top down, fords this, fords that.
It used to bug me so much on my apprenticeship I used to regularly alter the various files and workbooks from "fords" to "ford".
Her husband must have been either a manager or a suckhole to get that watch......or most likely stole it off a manager!!!
