Decided it was about time I got myself a decent car again seeing as I sold the last one in bits near on 4 years ago to be sensible and buy property.
Thought about a Ford RS and decided no as I don't trust myself after the extreme the last car went to and how much it must have cost to do it
Here's my last incarnation, maybe some people remember it?

A couple of pictures as it's getting dark and 200 miles later.

It's still an RS
Will give it a clean on Friday and post some decent pics.
I'm like a kid at Christmas

I'll try and leave it alone this time
The zetec lump was an American one; they come with a meatier head as well; the inlet was very interesting too.
Cheers Gary
I got a weeks free insurance from the dealer and have done all my research with insurance on the comparison sites. Adding my mum who is never going to drive it saves me Ł200
Got it down to Ł640 fully comp with NCB protected, courtesy car, legal protection etc. But I am 36
The quote from Audi insurance was Ł1500
Definitely could be a mid life chrisis Gus!
Thanks Rob

Cheers Gary

Nice mate
Still remember heading to the Essex RSOC meet in our RST's and we were so busy in convoy with each other... ahem... we missed the junction. Switch said the cars sounded good as we went past though

They are just the standard ones

Or oil bills, or lack of quoted horsepower
I love RS4's but have been scared off for life due to more than one story about oil use and being miles under quoted Audi power. Shame

Lovely car Dave, you considering a Milltek exhaust for it?
I'd like one for my RS6 but would like to have a ride in another car with one to see how noisey/quiet they are inside the car, no doubting they sound great outside though!

I hope I've got a nice one, researched on the net for about 3 months before I went and bought one.

We did have some good times!Parts etc are expensive, but I don't intend for it to be my main car for long, I'll get myself a diesel estate so I can sling my mountain bike in the back. I don't commute to work so it won't do that many miles a year. You'd be suprised how much a modified Ford RS costs to maintain

It was about time I got a grown up car Andy; glad you approve as you have excellent taste in cars

It's got the Milltek exhaust on it from factory; it must be the non resonated, non valved one as it sounds beautiful
It doesn't do many miles to the gallon
But I don't smoke, drink hardly at all and this is my treat to myself. I don't use it to commute and I like to walk and have a mountain bike. I live at work anyway. Thanks Jim; I hope you are well? It's funny how all of us have progressed and changed over the years. I hear you are doing well; fair play to you

Love your S1
I picked the RS4 out of my own preference. I could have bought a 600 bhp Evo 10 and a daily run around, but decided to go for a grown up car with a bit of ooomph
It's a car that I have wanted for a few years. Besides I think the interiors of the BMW's are not very elaborate. The RS4 has a gorgeous interior.
There's plenty of better contenders; I'm very happy with mine.
Without a doubt

I know about the oil thing, I will just keep an eye on mine. I have the Milltek as it was fitted at the factory and it sounds the tits
Even when it starts up it sounds mental
I'll have to read up a bit more as to why Glenn, claimed is 414 bhp (4wd), but rarely do they ever make that with coking up problems. Simple mod is to have the manifold ported, cures the coking and is an extra mod.
Thanks, saved hard for it. Just been away to the Falklands for 6 months, so this is compensation for working with the RAF

Must resist
Cheers Dingy, how is life on the other side of the world?

I've just spent 6 months in the Falkland Islands, this may sound weird, but does the globe spin faster at the bottom and the top as 6 months went fooking fast
After having lived out of this country for over 9 years in places like Germany, Belize etc; I can safely say that this country is crap
German efficiency makes it an amazing place to live; seriously, how the hell do they have a contingency plan for everything
We really are FUBAR'd living here. I'd better stop or I'll not stop
Now posted back to this crap hole, was it a good idea, we'll see!
