Welding onto cossie cam cover?

Default Welding onto cossie cam cover?

Need to weld a breather takeoff to the back of the cam cover, I have no idea about what its made of and what type of welding to use on it, also I think maybe th takeoff pipe is made of aluminium???

It's made from Aluminium, so best to TiG weld it if you can, if not resort to a MIG welder.

Tig it, be careful though as it generates uber amounts of heat.

you dont normaly weld them you simply drill a hole and seal a tube into the hole then fix with a self tapper if needed at the back of the cover

I got mines tig welded on at a place in hatton, the breather kit i got came with the bit of pipe and the guynwelded it on for me, George Andrew in Dyce or any welders should have the equipment to do it, kinda spoilt for choice for stuff like that in Aberdeen,

I had a fitting made that was smacked tight into a hole in the cam cover but was threaded with 3/8NPT so a JIC fitting could be added for my breather kit
