Icey morning morons!!
Coming to work this morning I came across a soppy bint in an Astra that had cleared no more than a strip 150mm by 300mm from the ice on her windscreen. Not only that she was trying to wipe the fog off the inside with her gloves (or a cloth, couldn't see clearly), crossing the centre line. Needless to say I gave her some main beam and a blast of the horn to alert her to the fact she was in the wrong lane and heading straight towards me.
Then she waves at me like I'm the one doing something stupid

Its bloody shocking I tell thee. The Mrs and I dont get moving until the car has warmed up and has been de-iced. Sure it takes a little while, If I have to get out the nectar card to get ice off in a hurry then so be it.
I do tell her off for wiping off condensation from the inside as well
in this low sun the smear marks make it a bastard to see

I always get up and run the car while I'm having my breakfast and getting ready. Usually a good half hour to get up to temperature, thaw, demist and everything else and it's perfect.
Yesterday I got stuck behind a black cab driver doing 15mph in a 30mph zone because he cant see out of his windowscreen for ice!
Then this morning a white van was coming towards me with a tennis ball sized bit of screen cleared, and throught it peered the driver, rolling a ciggy on the steering wheel.
Also got to laugh at tw*ts driving an inch off your bumper or racing up the street behind you when the roads a terrible, normally young birds who just have no clue what will happen when they need to stop. Normally the ones then crying and pointing fingers because they have ploughed into the back of you car.

Have to plug in here .. Snow on the roof isnt a problem neither is ICE on the window as its so cold it sucks the moisture out of the air. Snow turns to power at real cold temps and blows around like dust.
NOBODY has heated screens as you go through a window a season ..
Its blowing -38 here .. Have a nice day.

Heated screen on my Mondeo works on my side only so whilst that side is doing its stuff I defrost the passenger side with a Norah Jones CD case that was in the glovebox when I bought it.
Always worked for me ..But if you have a big chip and its real cold .. You could watch the cracks develop ..
And yeah .. I leave my truck running when I pop into the Mall .. I have a keycode locking device on the the door .. DEADLOCK if the code goes in wrong twice .. Lockdown
