cosworth yb rebuild/oil pump?
is it essential to replace the oil pump when doing a rebuild or is there a kit that allows you to refurbish the original pump?
also how do you I.D which pump it has fitted now? i.e 2wd or 4x4.
mine is a 200 block(4x4) with a 2wd head.
is it just part numbers or are they physically different?

take the cover off and meassure it up, if it's all looking good and within tolerence i'd stick it back in as new ones can be more trouble than they are worth.
They are also physically different, 2wd is basically a pinto pump with a different top. If you've never seen either before then the quickest way to tell is to look at where the oil spray bar goes into the pump, if it goes into the removable top then it's 2wd, if it goes into the main body of the pump then it's 4wd.
