thinking of buying one around 2006/2007 model. has anyone owned one, what do you think of them? any problems to look out for?

gearbox ecus go faulty appro £350 repair
oil pump drive gear wears iirc (chain driven)

these are problems lad at work has had on his 2007 model
i think they are a good strong car his has 230k on still strong and still drives like new

chopped in my focus titanium for 2007 a4 sline very nice motor with 70k on clock couldnt stop looking at it out of my window at it(sad i know) had it 25 days and gearbox shagged, in garage being repaired gotta love warrantee's lol cuz i dont fancy that bill!!!!

DPFs are a right pain on the 2.0 TDI 170 VAG lump for some reason, 2.0 140 suffers a lot less problems IME

As said DPFs play up but i have removed them and steamed them out with a hot jetwash and TFR and it sorts them, have done a gearbox ecu on a 3.2 a4 DSG cost £220 to get fixed, and they seem to play up with manifolds too, hope this helps

I have an a4 sline for the school hack and love it to bits. Would deffo have another and probably will when it's time to move ours on.

Loved mine, Bose pack is a nice addition! Only problem I had was an egr valve fail. Was replaced under warranty though. I'd agree rear legroom can be tight. I'd consider buying a warranty, big bills could make your eyes water. S line is deffinately the one to have.

Get a 140 over a 170 as they don't have a DPF. Map the 140

We have a audi a4 1.8t sline , im out the look out for a evo 8 so may be getting rid, great car but i just want a little more power .
Fitted with full votex kit and ditched the standard trim for full leather £1500 from audi
