Default RS500 T4 or Escort T34

Hi all !

I'm rebuilding my engine on a 2wd, I choose 7.2 Cosworth pistons because I wouldn't have an engine working in low rpm, but now I'm asking myself about the turbo choice...

I was first looking for an Escort T34. But I fear to have a fast power/torque ramp up and spin all the time and having a car without any control on it.

Then I looked for the RS500 T4 (which I ever wanted), I'm thinking to have a more progressive power/torque ramp up, and then having more control, less spin...

I know that with a T4 I will get more power, except if I put less pressure, then my only upgrade will be the pressure.

What are yours feedback regarding this ? regarding drivabillity ?
What about TT T38 ?

Kind Regards

how is the car going to be used? track or road
how much power are you wanting?

the problem with a t4 is, if you dont plan on using it to its full potential, i think you'll find the t4 is not a good choice

what cam do you have?

Thanks for answering

I will mainly use the car on the road, fast road, and some trackdays.
Even if it's not fully used, the pleasure is to build something nice, driveable...

I've got an exhaust BD10 and inlet BD14 cams, cosworth 7.2 pistons, airtec plenum, PRO 3" intercooler.

When I see a curve like cossie4i, I think is the kind of curve with I will have no driveability on 2wd...almost 330hp on 1000rpm

It drives fine and mine is 2wd

Keep a standard exhaust cam.

Between 3500 and 4500rpm isn't it pretty hard if you do full throttle ?!

Yes it does pull very hard if you put your foot down hard. You dont have to drive like that all the time.

Ok, thank you for answering.

Do you think T34 or T4 will do the same ramp up ? (I mean several hp on few rpm)
