1.7 seconds 0-60 mph.....
Surely it cant be possible to accelerate much faster than that in anything with four wheels!!!

About the only thing that does is a top fuel dragster... but they are a different league
0-60 MPH: 0.5 sec.
0-100 MPH: 0.8 sec.
0-200 MPH: 2.5 sec.

You are joking yes?
Top fuel dragsters hit 100mph in about 0.7 seconds....

No I'm not, I've seen proper top fuel dragsters in action so I can appreciate their power, I think this car is an amazing achievement, look at what it's capable of compared to a 1 second difference over a dragster that can only run for seconds at a time in a straight line, hardly an outrageous comment to make?

a top fuel dragster is doing over 100mph before the back wheels cross the start line & do the 1/4 mile in the 3 second bracket at over 330mph
sammy miller done the 1/4 in his rocket car in 3.58 seconds @386mph

But he didn't need to worry about traction as the rear wheels weren't being driven.

This award winning short film documents Ari Vatanen's record-breaking run at the 1988 annual Pike's Peak Hill Climb Event in Colorado. The film was created by Jean Louis Mourey and captures Vatanen climbing Pike's Peak in a four wheel drive, four wheel steering Peugeot 405 T16.
