hi all, just after abit of advice really. got a couple of grand to spend on a older car. whats youre opinions on either a mk2 escort(4dr), or mk1 fiesta. just want something to hopefully clean up do bits to it and hopefully a couple of outings a year in it. any advice much appreciated

just a toy mate to play with really. Thinking perhaps engine conversion in a mk1 fiesta or nice drop and wheels on a mk2 escort. Cant decide

 

id go for mk1 fiesta and fit a zetec and lower it
or have you thought about a orion this one looks good

toy.. mk2 escort, best mate had one, loved it and was only a 1.1 or 1.3.. i cant remember but it was awsome.

 

hi mate this is just my opinion and many may disagree,much depends on weather you are looking for a standard classic or something to mod bot out of those two i would go for a mk1 fiesta, you would get a better car for the money you've got to spend if however you want something a bit faster i you could pic up a fiesta rs turbo or escort rst and you wont have to spend a fortune on it to make it go well,good luck with it i hope you find what your looking for, cliff

id go mk1 fez and put a zetec in will be a good little car

 

I'd go for either the fiesta or an xr3 or mk2 xr2.

Escort mk2 will be a dog for that money

 

yer thats what i was saying, you a'int gonna get much of a mk2 escort for 2 grand where as i just picked up a very nice fiesta rst running a very nice 184bhp and just under 71,000 miles on the clock for £2,100 which i love
