It's not a Zetec or a Duratec, it's an I4 from the same family as the Galaxy/Scorpio engines. It's like the DOHC in later Sierras, but with a unique 16v head. The engine is unique to the RS2000. It's not a straightforward swap by any means and for the gain in performance I would stick to the engine you have as I assume it will be a 130ps.

It's do-able, but it's not the most difficult conversion ever. Far from the most straightforward though either!

Not work the hassle for the little bit of power you would gain!

It'll be a 105 ps on p reg cab. I'd deffo go for it. But need hubs, shafts gearbox ect if your going to do it properly.

It can be mounted to the ib5 already fitted though.

A P-reg cab could be any 1.8. Only the SI was 130bhp.

Even if it's a 130, I'd still consider it. The 130 engine isn't all that, would still feel notably quicker with the RS engine in, and has plenty of tuning scope.

It's best to swap the whole lot from a donor car; engine, box, shafts, hubs, loom etc etc, as it's all different, but you can fit it with the IB5 as said above. If it's a 130PS cab you're in luck, as the box and things is the same as the RS, so would be an engine and loom job.
