Get Elder Scrolls and you will be investing a hell of a lot of time!
Cracking game though, took me a bit to get used to it as not one for RPG but once I got the hang of it and got going it was really enjoyable.
Not played New Vegas but Fallout 3 was pretty good but after about 50 odd hours of playing I hit a glitch and lost it all so not played it since.

Loaded question that.
Personally, As you have a lot of free time I'd go with Skyrim, I've put near on 200 hours into it, I've had to take a break! But mainly because GT5 have released DLC. But it is an emit game, but not massively challenging, particularly of you put the time in completing side quests and level up you chatecter.
Haven't played New Vegas, but hear mixed reviews about it.
But if your into a Challenge then Dark Souls is the way to go, it's properly hard, but for some reason people are saying that despite the difficulty it's rewarding to play.

Can't comment on Elder Scrolls as I've never played it.
Fallout new Vegas on the other hand I have completed it several times and its a very time consuming game. Its very boring to watch!
I love it, I've had it for ages and I bought the walk through guide to go through it again and try and complete it 100%

completed fallout 3 on the ps3 including the addons a while back. Very good game bar the glitching/freezing which is more common the further into the game you get. Currently going through the FO3 new vegas at the moment and only had 1 freeze. Been pretty straightforward and the same as before so no complaints. Playing skyrim on pc and found the game fun for a while but i have hit lvl 38 and now with about 68 hours plaed and have the best armour etc and can't find anything else fun to do in it. Good games to pass the time but for me it's Battlefield 3 which is taking up my time. As for the FO3 comment the only differences i found was that new vegas seems to have invisible walls in certain areas so you cannot jump over rocks etc and the graphics look a little poor.
Haven't played dark souls so can't comment on it.
