Default cossie gearbox question

been told by a few people that 4x4 gearboxs are only good for 380bhp
well ive broke mine ( 400 ish bhp ) yes i admit i was driving hard showing my new power off to the lads, harsh gear changes high revs ive smashed 2nd gear

whats the 2WD gearbox rated to power wise as im thinking of changing back to 2WD ?

or if i get another 4x4 box should it be ok at around 400 bhp if i drive it right an not like i stole it

i would go 2wd cause 4x4 boxs are rated to 380bhp tops unless you buy proper upgraded parts for it. i am converting mine but sticking with the 7 inch rear diff for now as i am only running 280 bhp. once i up the horse power ill be changing to a 7.5 rear diff.

I would say that front diff is as strong as 3rd gear (2nd in your case). So yes if you want big power in a 4wd, get expensive transmission stuff, otherwise go 2wd
