Default Pectel T2 ECU and wavering Tacho

Hi people. I apologise about the sudden burst of posts. I carried out a search and whilst there was some good info....nothing concrete appeared.

My Sierra RS is running a Pectel T2 and electric ignition. (Cant say which brand at the moment as the car is in the workshop, it was all installed by SCS in case he has a preferred type)

The tacho works fine but when I rev the engine through the 4,000-5,000rpm range the tacho stalls at around 4,500rpm and hesitates...a second later it catches up.

For want of a better term it appears lazy and hesitates in that rev range. Only that rev range and I think its every time i rev through that range.

From what I can see the T2 uses Pin 1 ignition to pulse to the std dash. I have not taken the dash fascia off to check the wiring, gnd etc or checked for noise over that range. I have access to a cro, but hoping people can advise from past experience whether it is more likely a faulty dash tacho.

Since I am in Australia I am thinking the best bet is to buy a dash binnacle and send it off for an inspection, service/repair and then install....or is there something else to check?

Thanks for your help people...I wont bore you with the "why do my high beams come on when I let the clutch out in 1st gear" as that is something I need to delve into after some other issues are resolved
