Default cosworth rattle/ticking/knocking

Got a 2wd sierra cosworth which starts cold with the normal slight piston slap & sticky tappet, But once warm and driving its fine but when under load in any gear there is a tapping/knocking noise

Now i know its not big ends as its far from that bad but just wanted to see what people think this could be ?

Its a 205 block still with dark greens, t34 turbo @ 1.5bar with chip to match, The car drives fine apart from this noise it had a oil and filter change about 500miles ago and it didnt change a thing using 10/40

Oil pressure is very good the light always goes straight out when started

Lifters most likely, you may get away with just cleaning them, that is if you don't mind removing the top half of the head, i.e. cam cover, camshafts etc.

Or it may well go by itself given time, someones giving it a bootful can help as this gets the oil hotter and thinner, and so may well clear the blockage, this is assuming you have a good quality oil and it's been changed regularly etc.

Had mine out 2day & heard a ticking sound when on boost. Had a look at it there it's the exhaust maifold gaskets blowing out. It sounded like an internal knock or tick from inside the car.

but looking at the car when ticking over there is no sign of a blow but guess it only has to be a small blow to stand out when under load

Same as above mine was out yesterday was fine then all of a sudden a ticking noise gave it a slight rev and there it was a cracked manifold so off the rd now decided to strip it and do it once and do it properly a nice reliable 400 bhp at least I got a excuse to buy updated tubular manifold now. Lol
