Default engine noise when warm??? idears plz???

2wd cosworth
205 block
4x4 pistons

strats from cold & is perfectly quiet
2-3min running a little noise appears
noise is constantly there from this point

once revs is brought up to 2/2.5k its gone & is perfect all the way threw the revs

cain the death outa it & stop & noise is gone, 2 in idleing & its back?????

sounds like slight piston slap noise but surely this should go once warm???
listened around teh bay & if anything seem to be comeing from rear of engine but dont take my word for it. lol

little end bush???????
oil presure issue???

dont think its shells as its perfect from cold & doesnt get anywose when revved/driven

few people have told me not 2 worry as isnt that bad but its annoys the sh#t outa me!

Sticky lifter? Although i'd imagin it'd be less likely to be noisey when warmed up?

If you start the car and let it tickover until its at normal temp does the noise stay constant as the build up of heat tightens all the tolerances within the valve train.

i start car in morings & its perfect, i just in & drive a mile & stop at idle & it is making noise

when car is warm i can turb off for 5 min, start it up & within 20 seconds of idle i can hear it

not a big end knock, sounds more lke piston slap/camshaft noise

im home in 3 weeks & cars been standing for 2months so ill know more then.

when i brought car it was perfect & after 6 months it started & in the mean time i bent a valve so head was removed & rebuilt with enw valves/faced & i stripped bottom end & had valve cut outs in pistons machiined at harvey gibbs, crank polished & new set of shells (nothing wrong with old ones but replaced while i was there for the cost.

only thing i personally didnt check was little end bushes worn

my mates 4x4 cosworth done same thing but when it was at running temp it was sound (piston slap), he tells me not 2 worry about it as isnt geting any worse but it just bugs me.

im in 2 minds 2 pull engine out & strip it for inspection again, he thinks im mad!

i want 2 get it set up but dont want 2 as it is just incase it has to come appart again.

before you strip the whole engine plastigauge all of the cam journals seen a couple with caps slightly worn out of tolerance sound ok cold but as soon as the oil warms the slight rattle appears even with good oil pressure, a couple of new caps and line boring noise gone i am not saying this is def your problem but what you describe sounds familiar good luck with it.
