First of all a BIG HELLO to you all, i am new on here only just purchased my 2006 Focus ST-2 two days ago in black.

My questions are.......

1) I know the 2.5t is from a volvo but i looked under cambelt cover to see if its been changed and its a volvo belt??? Would it have been a ford one from new???? Does this mean its been changed??

2) I have only got the standard ford key with no buttons etc it works car fine but i have to switch ignition on within 12secs or alarm goes off!!! I believe if i purchase a second hand key i can program it myself to open and close doors BUT not start the car??? As long as it opens car by remote and alarm stops going off i will be happy.

Any help would be great

Hi Paul,

Some of the st,s came from factory with Volvo belts as ford source the lump complete from the Volvo engine plant. So it may not have been changed, I would change it anyway for peace of mine.

The key can be programmed to not only open the car but also work the ignition but will be either a ford programming or locksmith job to do it.
