Default Just bought a focus rs, VERY DISSAPOINTED!!

I've just bought a focus rs from EVAN HALSHAW ford dealers in blackpool, and in the cold light of day when I've got it home it's clear that the car has had paint on the rear quarter, boot and also at the front!! also it has had two new tryes fitted at the rear which are called "taya"? I paid £18999 for the car which is over priced for a car with 17000miles on it, but the reason I did was becuase they are a ford dealer and I thought that i would have peace of mind.

The question I'm asking is do you think that I'm being picky? I feel like trying to get my money back but i don't think that I've got a leg to stand on? if anyone can offer some advice i would really appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,

Anthony.

P.S. just so you know I do love the car in every other respect!!

did you not get it under that gold seal used car warranty from ford??

if the car was advertised any differently than what you have received you have got a leg to stand on under the trade description act........dont just lie down and take it mate, stand up and fight

At the ford dealers in Lytham they took delivery of one and one of the back wheels had a chunk out of it... apparantly the boys at the compound had been messing around in them before they were delivered... that might explain the tryes...

Anthony- beware- evan's have a reputation for really rubbish after-sales...

Good Luck tho...

Hi mate, only just joined this site, so here goes....

I lived in Blackpool once, and had a new Zetec S from them, it was a nightmere for the first 2 months, this car was "brand" new and it spent more time there!
Shell is right there crap, but saying that the Trade and Stantards Act of 1982 does stand as ESCYSCOTT meantions. But dont be unhappy and have to put up with it, cos my FRS has just cost me £18499 in Oct 04 just gone and that had a a couple of marks on, so the price went down!!

I've had the car fully checked out at an independent garage and I've had it up on the ramps and all is fine i don't know why it has had paint but it certainly hasn't had a knock, which is the main thing. I think i was just being paranoid cos it's the most I've ever spent on a car.

Thanks again,

Ant.

Anthony,

I bought my FRS brand new from Ford.

I can tell that mine has had paint on the o/s rear quarter panel.

I know this must have been done at the manufacturers as it came into the dealer by transprter and my brother was there when it turned up.

I know that these cars were on the normal production line to start off with then taken off for the final fitments, ie standard seats fitted on production line then removed by hand and the Sparco seats fitted by hand. I think that because of this the odd car may have been scratched by removel or fitting of seats which left them having to repair some cars.

Hope this makes you feel better about the paintwork, it puts my mind at rest.

P.S Thanks for your kind help with using your car for Tanias wedding day.

That makes it four Focus RS and one Sapphire Cosworth.

Cheers

Clayton Borg

I've been to solihul and watched Range Rovers being built, you would not beleive how many cars are touched up at the end of the production line
