I'd take the Honda all day.

The 172 will have an awful interior, usual french electrics and a weak gearbox should you wish to go for power in the future.

In standard trim the 172 feels very gutless also IMO

I would go for the clip cup mate nice simple little cars and are very quick.
Never had a problem with the box in mine mate and that got abused every time out. And they handle really well

well i would say a 182 is better than a 172 and can be picked up for a simmilar price.

The thing is with the clio its french so there are a host of expensive electrical problems waiting for you.

I would vote CTR they look better and are more reliable and besides vtec is fun

Gearboxes are ok standard, but nothing like the Honda's when you look for more power

Clio will outdance the Civic all day everyday. However, the build leads a lot to be desired on the Clio. Mates have also bust a few engine mounts on them as well

If I was spending my own money I would be swaying towards the Civic

Id take the clio hands down.

The sports dont really suffer from the crap electrics.

Gearboxes are cheese tho

Have to agree Mike. Amazing how few reliability problems reported on Cliosport forum. Popular misconception I reckon.

less problems withe the 172 cup in general as there is no climate controll, abs, traction controll or seat airbags.i personally think they look better than the civic as well.parts for mine were reasonably cheap as well.Must have with the clio is cambelt change though.
But only my opinon.
