my daily runner is a 1.8 escort si and it seems to be using more fuel than it used to, i get about 200 miles out of £50 also it smells like its overfueling, it idles fine and i have cleaned the iscv, maf sensor and its got new plugs and leads... anybody have any ideas ? or does this miles per gallon seem right?

Assuming it isn't mechanical, it's also worth looking at the CTS, it's job is to tell the ECU the temperature of the coolant, these can go out of range over time and so tell the ECU duff info, so if it's saying it's colder than what it is, it will deliver more fuel.

Sorry I know what it is just not were tonlook for the sensor, can it be cleaned or would it need replacing?

It will be in a water jacket, so in the side of the head for example.
