Default Jobs that didn't go as smoothly as expected

Ever had one of those jobs that you expected to be simple and they just turned out to be a total ballache!

Called out to a job today, we are based in liverpool, bosses mate rang, cars broke down in Bolton, was turning around and heard a massive bang, got out to find the wheel up in the arch, possible that the ball joint had snapped. So we ordered one up and headed down.

Got there to be greeted with this

The chassis was on the floor!

So plan of action, start jacking car in the middle, then place the other jack under when we could, wheel off blah blah, absolute twat of a job getting the back bolt out, all out, new one in all fine and dandy. Tools away, go to set off, car wont move.

It had only gone and snapped the CV clean off the driveshaft

Not to mention we found the car half way up a mountain, a woman stopped and said was it our car, as she thought it was stolen and been dumped So its no residing at the bottom of the mountain in a pub car park till we sort a drive shaft out and go back down again tomorrow.

So what simple nightmares have you had?

I used to be brilliant with cars in my younger years, but my latest car ive done simple tasteful mods to such as lowering, cosmetic stuff has all ended up costing me twice or three times as much as what the parts i purchased to change did.

Got offered a set of coilovers for £175 but got springs for £60 as im not going all out on it, long story short the springs lowered the front silly low but left the back looking standard, i left my mate to take the back springs back out and cut a coil or two off them ( springs that sit in the swingarm not on the shock ) came back an hour later he had cut both the back arms off because the bolts had seized snapped and rounded off, cost me £150 for two new arms and £50 for him to do it

Tried cleaning the idle control valve ended up dropping one of the bolts inside the inlet had to take complete inlet off to get the bolt back, new gaskets and all sorts and now it runs worse than it did before

Oh and yesterday a clip on vent air freshner has fallen inside the heater duct tube behind the dash and i cant adjust the dial thing that sets it to screen, feet, face, etc

Need i go on? im jus leaving it alone now !
