Mondoe mk3 tdci running problem
basically when you boot in mainly in third, once the revs get to 2500-3000 rpm the glow plug light comes on and cuts the power, sometimes it cuts out. It gets scary when your trying to overtake things lol, Well when it does this there is no smoke out the back etc just wondered if it could be the erg valve needing a clean? any ideas what it could be praying its no the fucking injectors

Sounds like injectors causing it to go into limp mode mate.
Get a local garage to read the fault codes.
Worse case is fuel pump, filter - flush the system of any crap and then new injectors + recode them.
good luck.
thanks,
Manoj

If you key it off and back on and it takes it out of limp mode probably fuel rail pressure not reached, you really need obd fault codes and some live data to diagnose as there are so many variables to choose from.
It could be any number of things. First step is to get the fault codes read. If it's P1211 and P0251 it's time to start praying. If the fault code is P0340 then it's the cam sensor - It happened to mine last week while overtaking. A £25 sensor and two mins to swap and it's fixed. If your sensor is black, then it's an old one, which are renowned for being a bit dicky, new ones are grey, and better.
It 'could' be any number of things including the injectors, pump, cam/crank sensors. It's a very hard thing to accurately diagnose, as the fault codes aren't very specific. One thing to investigate (if it is P1211/0251) is the Inlet Metering Valve which is mounted to the pump, and can cause the symptoms you mention, but is a lot cheaper than swapping in a new pump.
It could still be injectors, as they can be fucked and the car can still start fine, and not smoke, but it's unlikely with the cutting out.
Get the fault codes and take it from there. PM me if you get the codes and want more info.

My mondeo ST did the same when i first got it.
Got the codes read and it was the EGR valve. It was replaceda year earlier also as i had the reciept for it.
Im not sure for all mk3's but for the ST i bought a jaguar EGR valve which was £115 IIRC compared to the exact same part from ford at nearly £300

Very common fail on Mondingoes is the Turbo Actuator (electric servo type)
The flashing glow plug lamp is a common sign the actuator is on the way out
When the flashing light occurs again pull over when possible turn off engine and remove key count to 10 and restart this resets the position of the actuator and off you go again
As for OBD readers some will only read the MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp) and not manufacturer specific warning lamps such as the Ford Glow plug lamp
An ODB reader may give a code but it can actually bear no resemblence to the fault that is causing the problem
Personally I use Snap-On Modis but also have access to various other "machines" to help in diagnosis

Mine did this too,4 new injecters cured the problem.Car started fine,no black smoke and 5liters to 100km fuel consumption,so other than the cutting out,the car did seem fine at the time.
ps Injecters aint cheap!!
ps Injecters aint cheap!!
Recon Injectors from Ford are £297 + vat each x 4
Then you need 2 pairs of high pressure pipes, think they're about £18 a pair.
Also 4 injector-rocker cover seals , about £5 each
Fuel filter £36 from Ford
Then fitting and coding!!
