hi all, after a bit of help for a friend, basically he's an old guy who has had a mk1 escort from new, car is totally mint and original, i went to see it this morning and couldn't believe the condition of it, the problem he's facing though is he used to have an agreed valuation of £4500 but now the insurance want a written valuation to honour this, so can anyone help? I'll upload photos in a sec

What spec is it? 2 door, 4 door, 1.3? Mexico, rs2000 etc. Road worthy 4 door base models are worth about 2 grand, 2 doors can be double and more, if they are mint, you can add another grand fairly easily. Sport models are difficult to value due to their rarity, a roadworthy mex can fetch 7k fairly easily, if its a really good one, they can be worth 15k, RS2000s are similar. RS1600s and twin cams are worth like 25-30k, maybe even more.
