Hi, im new to passionford although over the years have owned several fords both standard and modded.
At the moment I am in the process of modding a Puma 1.7, just got 17" wheels , 5 spokes in shadow chrome and K&N 57i kit, window tinting next and then when the salt is off the roads the car needs a respray
This is my problem I think the car will need a complete body respray as the laquer is peeling on the front passenger wing and drivers door, also the front a post has a touch of rust as does both sills and rear arches. the rear passenger wing also has rust coming through from underneath, so far I have been quoted £1,000-£1,400 for same colour respray and £3,000 for a change of colour
This seems a little steep and was wondering if anyone knows of a local good body shop who would be a little cheaper as the prices so far would wipe out my modding budget

Colour change your lookin at about 2k + mate, trust me ive done it its a fookin bitch to do!!! whole car has to be stripped prepped, painted then put back together.

Same colour again if done fully will still need stripping so anything from 1k-£1500 is fair really.

If they do a blowover some places start at £800 + as they just do it without painting the shuts etc so leave the doors on etc.

You get what u pay for at the end of the day mate!!

I actualy live in Chapel en le Frith which is in Derbyshire, but is on the borders of Cheshire (5miles) , Gtr Manchester (7miles) , Staffordshire(10miles) and South Yorkshire (15miles).
But I work in Manchester centre, on my way to work I pass through 3 counties

we always use alan green in ashton under lyne, manchester.

takes his time but looks mint when it comes back, will try and dig out his number.

 

That would be great, used to work in ashton, so know the area reasonably well,
what do you lot think of the prices quoted so far are they about right, am I going to put my other mod plans on hold til get he paint sorted.
