does anyone know what this code is

car is loosing power then the eml come's on and it drives normal, on motorway driving its fine but sometime's has a misfire it also smoke's sometime's

had diagnostic check and code 0831 come's up i can seem to find out what it is

 

Vauxhalls suffer really bad with EGR valve problems, I'll have a look on Autodata if you let me know the year and engine code if possible.

Is it black smoke or blue?

If its black then as per above, EGR is the first thing I would look at personally.

i forgot to say egr vavle had been changed code for egr valve is 1405

if anyone come's across this code 0831 its the clutch pedal switch ive disconnected it and its fine, im going to order a new one so it keeps the eml off

 

merlin have you got a data disc i bought one once of ebay it give's you loads of codes for all makes and tels you where the socket is to connect it but it got damaged and ive not been able to get another

 

Sorry mate use a friends Autodata on his laptop, fantastic bit of kit but for £600 it wants to be. Glad you got it sorted
