Default Well I fu**ed about with it and now it's not boosting...

Put the dump valve back on and replaced the crankshaft pulley amongst a few other small jobs. Gave it a run and it's only pushing 12psi. I did knock the Amal valve with a spanner a couple of times fairly lightly, but strong enough to bend the plug on top. Could this cause the above issue? But I notice I still have "wastegate chatter" in addition to the dumpvalve opening.

It should be 24psi so it's halved

Yes, I think that could be because of the amalvalve. If you unplug it, it will also boost low as it will not switch to the bleed anymore. Maybe the electrical connections are not OK.

Try disconnecting your amal valve, if it boosts to the same pressure then it's fooked

Did you remove or replace any of the pipes on the amal valve? the reason I ask is I did this and forgot to put the little regulator that sits in one of the amal valve pipes back, this caused me a loss of boost

Cheers guys, i'l charge my battery then give that a go. Not had the pipes off it, and the connectors seem ok. Is there a way of removing the valve completely without the need for some kind of setup?

Cheers

If I remember rightly it clicked if I unplugged it and the plugged it back in. It was a few weeks ago though, it's been sat in the garage since then and I've only just put the battery back on charge..

Id have said to remove it you need some kind of manual boost control eg bleed valve etc but wouldnt recommend them to anyone. seen to many horror stories with these. generaly through mis use or people messing about with them for more boost. Thus running lean and creating meltdown

If it's a recirculating dump valve, is it the correct way round ?

My advice would be to remove dv,block the pipe(broom handle size) and try that.If still no boost by pass the amal and try that but dont go mad because it will probably over boost.Yes the diaphragm can split but surely you would here the air escaping when it trying to build up boost.Mine used to run at 22-24psi,amal valve packed up and it resorted to about 10-12psi=shit slow lol.

Cleaned up the electrical plug and all seems good...
