Default Cossie set up, aberdeen

Where's the best place near here for gettin a cossie set up, don't really want to put it anywhere near Ava , I've yet to hear a good story about sitec and apparently Wallace ain't much use with out russ, I'd like to say I've never used any of these tuners I'm just going from what I've heard from people and the Internet, any good experiences with these people or any other tuner who knows cossies up here?

Wallace are shit and only really an MOT station they say they are big tuners but they are not! most customers stuff like engine builds ect, are sent elsewhere to be done!

I personally would travel and get it set up properly! never mind scotland, you could however try AG motorsport where my car is currently, im not to sure how far Andrew goes with tuning though but worth a call.

Russ was the only decent employee that Wallace has ever seen.

MSD would be a good call, spoilt for choice in England, still would buzz AG.

Fucking iPhones! Aye anyway the inlaws stay down there but when it's finished and mot'd would like to take it somewhere up here to get the fueling checked and a general Heath check when it's gettin run in , instead of driving all the way down there and melting something and fucking up a rather nice rebuild before I get there

Not had great dealings with him, he managed to put a suspension spring on upside down, when he was working fae Dyce. Was only on my Mondy and it handles like a boat at the best of times!

I used Sitech recently to check and arange adjustments to my MSD chip and never had any problems, If its just to check that your chip is safe to drive it down to msd anyone with decent wideband should manage that.

I think Russ is probably the best in Scotland at what he does i've never heard a bad word said about his work and i could probably rattle off 30 folk i know thats had their cars done by him.

Sitech and Performance HQ are about 5min away from each other so i'd say a trip done the nack of the woods would be your best bet?

Hello,

I'd like to add to this;- we've only just been approved for MOT testing - literately, still waiting on the Vosa documents to come through.

As for the reference on engine builds, we do send all engines away to get machined yes, and bottom ends built as we do not have a clean room here or machining tools.
Having said that, I've put a few together myself including a 1000bhp spec Evo engine.

I know in the past Wallace didn't have the best of names, but things do change. I do take exception to the above comment though, you're not being very fair IMO.

Thanks,
Matty

Matty, do you have much experience of setting up cosworth engines then?

I.e do you think you can offer the thread starter the sort of detailed knowledge of the YB engine that say MSD can, or are you just taking exception to the comments about WP rather than suggesting you are best suited for the job this thread refers to?

Another vote from me for Russ in scotland, or MSD near by.

Hi Chip,

I just took exception to the comments.
I'm an honest person, the Cosworth engines are ones I'm not overly familiar with - hence why I wasn't 'touting' for work.

In my 3 years of working with Russ, I only saw a handful of Cosworths in and most were for power runs. My background is mainly Italian cars, but now mainly the Japanese tuning market.

Have to say that IMO Wallace Performance have come on leaps and bounds in years gone by.

Since Gavs departure many moons ago Russ (and yourself Matty) have done everything to get the name associated with the best names in the business.

Over the past few years i have had some work done on various cars and its been ok.

Id give you a go if i still had a cossie.

Russ and Matty have mapped a few cars for me now and I've got no complaints. They have a bad name attached to them from the previous plonkers who worked there. I think they have improved alot over the last few years and I'd use them again.

Standard bottom end on a +0.25 overbore all new shells and rings, high pressure oil pump, t34/63 , ported head, greens , 3 bar map sensor 500 cooler so usual stage 3 stuff , all I really want is some one to give the map a check, I'm not even sure what chip is in it, the plan is to go to msd and get a gt30 wasted spark and Siemens injectors fitted and mapped but Im looking for some one within a few hundred miles of home where I can get a general health check so it can run fine with out me worrying until I do get the work done by msd

If you've changed your spec you will have to get a chip to suit it. The chip will be matched to the turbo and injectors etc
